Banana Fruit SmoothiesStrawberry

 


Fruit smoothies make a great snack and drink rolled into one.

They are nutritious and ideal for young children (and adults!) as they are packed with fruit which contain plenty of vitamins, minerals and fibre. They also contain Milk or yoghurt which is full of calcium to help bulid strong and healthy bones and teeth.

How do you make them?

  • A cupful of fruit - remember you can pick more than one different fruit. Try peach and pineapple, raspberry and apple, banana and mango. You can choose fresh, frozen or tinned fruit ( tinned in natural juices).
  • A cupful of milk, or a small pot of yoghurt - or a mixture!
  • 2-3 tablespoons pure unsweetened fruit juice. This is optional but it can help to make the smoothie less thick.

Then simply mix together and blend using a food blender, masher or whisk!

Strawberry Breakfast Shake

To make a breakfast shake you will need:

  • 1 tin of strawberries ( in juice not syrup)
  • 250ml of semi skimmed milk
  • 250ml of low fat strawberry yoghurt
  • 1 dessert spoon of runny honey

How you make it:

  • Open the can of strawberries and put them including their juice into the blender.
  • Pour the milk and yoghurt into the blender - give the ingredients a mix.
  • Put the lid on the blender and fasten tightly.
  • Whiz all the ingedients in the blender until smooth.
  • Pour the shake into glasses and serve.

 

 

Papaya & Orange Smoothie

Serves 1

Papaya1 Papaya

OrangeI Orange Juice (juiced)

150 plain Yoghurt or milk

Mix all Ingredients together in a blender until
smooth and drink!

      

 

Apple & Pear Smoothie

Serves 3/4

Pear1 Pear
Apple 1 Apple


1/4 cup low fat milk
4 ice cubes
(blend the ice until crushed) 

Cut pear & apple into small pieces.

Add to ice with milk then blend, serve and drink!
